Everything You Need to Know About Remora PRO
A professional wireless system designed for musicians, engineers, producers, and pro gamers.
General questions
Remora PRO is a personal, portable, device that works with any headphones. Think of it like a smartphone for your ears: you can connect it to any source (USB, analog, or Bluetooth) and download plugins straight onto it to personalize your sound, and add new features, such as immersive audio experiences. You get to install the apps you want and upgrade the headphones you already own.
Remora PRO can be used in two ways
Wired: Connect it to your laptop via USB, and then plug in your headphones to the 3.5mm connector.
Professional Wireless: You need two Remora units (one acts as the transmitter, the other as the receiver). Use the transmitter unit with a standard 3.5mm stereo audio cable or USB cable and connect your headphones to the receiver unit. This creates an ultra-low-latency, high-quality audio link.
There are currently two wireless options:
- Professional Wireless: Ultra Wideband (UWB) professional-grade wireless with imperceptible latency and uncompressed audio streaming (up to 24-bit/96kHz). This means we stream the PCM samples over the link - we do not use a data compression algorithm like MP3 which removes a lot of information.
- Bluetooth: A more cost-effective option for casual listening, with support for standard data compression algorithms like SBC and LC3 with the ability to expand later if needed.
We plan to add WiFi in future versions of Remora PRO for home music streaming.
All you need is a Remora PRO unit, your favorite headphones, and either a USB or analog connection to your audio source. For UWB wireless setups, you’ll need two Remora units - one for transmission and one for reception.
Performance & Technology
With UWB, latency is around 5ms, which is imperceptible for most use cases. With Bluetooth, latency is higher, but still suitable for everyday listening. Latency is the number one concern in pro workflows, so we designed Remora PRO with engineers, DJs, and musicians to ensure we meet their needs.
Unlike many wireless systems, Remora PRO is built to support professional sample rates. The UWB version streams uncompressed PCM audio up to 24-bit/96kHz, ensuring consistent quality.
Out of the box, Remora PRO supports high-quality stereo. With plugins and future updates, it can support spatial rendering and multi-channel workflows (up to 5.1 right now), opening the door to wireless immersive experiences.
Bluetooth compresses audio and adds latency, which is fine for casual use but not ideal for studio work.
Wi-Fi is not designed for low latency audio and can cause dropouts and increases latency, it is great for streaming high quality lossless audio direct to your headphones without having to use your phone or another device that has Bluetooth.
UWB streams raw PCM audio samples up to 24bit/96kHz with imperceptible latency and no data compression, making it ideal for professionals.
Each Remora unit can connect via USB or analog input/output (e.g., 3.5mm stereo). In wireless setups, one Remora serves as the transmitter (connected to the source) and the other as the receiver (connected to your headphones).
Remora PRO uses UWB, which operates differently from typical wireless systems and transmits at 6.5GHz which should not interfere with studio equipment.
Yes! One of the most exciting aspects of Remora PRO is how much it can improve the sound of everyday headphones. Because all audio processing happens on the device itself, you can load EQ profiles, and enhancement plugins that tailor the sound to your preference.
This means:
- Lower-quality headphones can be tuned to sound clearer, fuller, and more balanced.
- Switching between devices (e.g., studio monitors, high-end cans, or basic earbuds) becomes more consistent because your personal profile lives in the Remora PRO, not in the headphones.
- Plugins do a lot of the heavy lifting - from headphone correction profiles to spatial rendering and hearing personalization.
So while premium headphones will always offer more headroom and better acoustics, Remora PRO helps level the playing field, making even budget or mid-tier headphones sound significantly better and more consistent across your workflow.
Studio & Creative Use
Yes. Remora PRO acts like a portable USB soundcard with your personal sound profile downloaded into it. For example, you can start mixing in the studio on a professional platform, then continue on your laptop or tablet - and your audio sounds consistent everywhere.
All plugins run directly on the Remora PRO device itself, not your computer. This ensures your personalized sound is consistent across devices. Plugins can include EQ, spatial rendering, immersive effects, or hearing personalization tools. You can create your own profiles to get the sound you need for the project you are working on.
Personalized plugins adapt sound to your needs - whether that’s correcting hearing damage, tuning headphones to your taste, simulating a speaker environment, or rendering immersive spaces for games or movies. You choose what to install, just like apps on a smartphone.
Yes. We’re collaborating with many plugin creators so you can bring new software tools directly into the Remora PRO environment. This ensures you can extend your workflow without being tied to a single platform.
Yes. With spatial rendering plugins, you can recreate the experience of sound arriving from speakers in front of you. This helps mixing and mastering engineers work more naturally, even on headphones.
Both. Remora PRO was designed for professionals (recording engineers, DJs, Foley artists, sound designers, music producers, gaming audio developers), but it’s also powerful for enthusiasts who want studio-quality listening or personalized hearing profiles.
Remora PRO provides an ultra low latency wireless link - the delay is imperceptible. Also, because of the portable product design, it works with the headphones you already own - you don’t need to buy a specific headphone to get the wireless experience.
Practicality
Battery life depends on usage and battery size. For wireless use we expect 5–6 hours, which comfortably covers most studio or listening sessions.
Remora PRO makes it possible to use plugins to create your unique hearing profile. If you have hearing loss, you can load a plugin that corrects your specific hearing curve - so music and speech sound clear again. For example, this means the mix you create stays true and is only processed for your ears when you listen to it.
